Dance This Town's Dances Around the Yagura

Nagoya Port is a festival town. With the full backing of the Tsukijiguchi Shopping Street Promotion Association, members of the local group あすなろ会 (Asunaro-kai) perform the dances handed down in this town. A Bon Odori yagura (festival tower) stands at the Minato Sports Plaza venue, and anyone is welcome to join the dancing around it.

At the Opening Ceremony on Sunday, September 13, あすなろ会 (Asunaro-kai) also perform Bon Odori from 17:00. It is the day the lanterns on the yagura are lit for the first time this festival. (Opening Ceremony details)

Bon Odori by the local group あすなろ会 (Asunaro-kai) around the yagura. Anyone is welcome to join the circle of dancers.

The Yagura and Lanterns

The yagura stays up throughout the festival, from September 12 to October 25. The lanterns are lit for the first time on the evening of Sunday, September 13, with Bon Odori by あすなろ会 (Asunaro-kai) from 17:00 that day as well. On October 3 and 10, there will be dancing on top of the yagura and a taiko drum performance around it.

Songs We Dance To

We dance 6 songs in the first half and 6 in the second half. The song list is the same on Saturday, October 3 and Saturday, October 10. Even if you don't know the moves, just join the circle and follow along.

Besides Bon Odori, events are held every weekend during the festival.

2. Sep 13SunOpening Ceremony, from 11:00Ended11:00–12:30: Japanese taiko drumming by 高六太鼓 (Takaroku Daiko), children's taiko by ひよ鼓舞太 (Hiyokobuta), and Okinawan Eisa by 琉球國祭り太鼓 (Ryukyukoku Matsuri Daiko). From 17:00, the lanterns are lit for the first time for Bon Odori dancing with あすなろ会 (Asunaro-kai).
3. Sep 18–19Fri–SatNagoya Port × Okinawa Day, from 17:40 (18th) / 17:20 (19th)EndedEisa dancing by 愛知エイサー協議会 (Aichi Eisa Kyogikai) and 海風エイサー (Umikaji Eisa), Okinawan folk songs by 与那覇政克with MAMI (Masakatsu Yonaha with MAMI), and a stage performance by YOUNG JUICY. Food stalls serve Okinawan dishes, too.
4. Sep 20SunNagoya Port × Idol Day, from 12:10EndedキャンフェスLASTサマー2026【DAY1】 (CanFes LAST Summer 2026 [DAY1]), starting at 12:10. 19 acts in total, including 星のカケラ (Hoshi no Kakera), アステリア (Asteria) and ナト☆カン (Nato☆Kan).
5. Sep 26SatNagoya Port × Pro Wrestling Day, from 12:00EndedA pro wrestling ring comes to the venue. Completely free (first match scheduled for 13:00). From 17:00 to 21:10, キャンフェスLASTサマー2026【DAY2】 (CanFes LAST Summer 2026 [DAY2]) also features idol live shows by 11 acts.
6. Sep 27SunNagoya Port × Idol Day, from 11:15EndedA day of stage performances centered on local idols. 20 acts perform.
7. Oct 3SatNagoya Port × Bon Odori, 17:00–18:30Bon Odori dancing with the local group あすなろ会 (Asunaro-kai).

11. Oct 17SatNagoya Port × Music Day / BMX Pro ShowA day of all kinds of music, centered on local artists. At the Urban Sports Park, professional riders put on a BMX show twice, once in the daytime and once in the evening (30 minutes each). BMX and skateboard jam sessions are also held before and after the shows.
12. Oct 18SunNagoya Port × Idol Day, from 11:30A day of stage performances centered on local idols. 12 acts perform.
13. Oct 23–24Fri–SatNagoya Port × Okinawa DayEisa dancing by 愛知エイサー協議会 (Aichi Eisa Kyogikai) and 海風エイサー (Umikaji Eisa), Okinawan folk songs by 与那覇政克with MAMI (Masakatsu Yonaha with MAMI), and a stage performance by YOUNG JUICY. Food stalls serve Okinawan dishes, too. On Saturday, October 24, 高六太鼓 (Takaroku Daiko) and HIBI音 (Hibine) also perform.
14. Oct 25SunClosing CeremonyThe final day. Dancing by あすなろ会 (Asunaro-kai) and a performance by 高六太鼓 (Takaroku Daiko) bring the festival to a close.

Access

Get off at Nagoyako Station (E07) on the Nagoya Subway Meiko Line. The venue is right by Exit 3.
